There were all kinds of booths setup around the festival. There were people selling things for humans, some selling things for pets.
One was a photographer specializing in pet portraits. Aroma Therapy had a corner... still not sure if the aromas were for the pets, or the humans though.
I think all the groups that were giving demonstrations had areas setup. The Agility Club had a space setup where you could put your pet
through it's paces on some equipment. Tucked away in one corner was a booth where you could get a "Paw Print" made. Basically you
got your pet to put their paw in wet plaster, and you got the impression with their name above it. There were also some vets on hand,
giving vaccinations and doing microchipping.
One section was set aside for pets which were up for adoption. And there were a large number of booths dedicated to various rescue
efforts (including one for horses).
One booth that caught our attention was the Canine Social Club.
Basically a Doggie Daycare type place. Would probably be a great place to let your little friends socialize with other pets,
especially if you didn't have a dog park around.
Speaking of dog parks, there was a table setup for a group of individuals who were trying to get approval to turn part of a
park in Norman in to a off-leash dog park.
Other booths included a tattoo parlor (for humans, spray on so they were temporary). There was also a "massage therapist" (for pets) which
had a very content/relaxed looking dog on the table when we went by. There were a couple of artists there also... one was doing
caricatures of you and your pet on the spot, the other was selling prints/notepads which he had made before hand.
Several places had various pieces of pet furniture and such for sale. Here are a couple of items which caught our eye. It's kind of hard to
get a reference on the swing, as far as size, but the top of the frame is less than the height of a table (about 30" I would guess).
A medium sized dog could sit on it, or a few Min Pins.
The other is actually a two piece set. There is a small raised bed for your
little pals to snooze in, and then a holder for a pair of water/food bowls. The set was called "Bed and Breakfast".
We have actually be toying with the idea of designing a "Zeus's Doghouse" version of the "Bed and Breakfast". If anyone would be
interested in a custom "Bed and Breakfast" set, feel free to contact us, or drop a line in the forums.
